ROOTED

ROOTED is a 10 week experience that provides the opportunity to connect with God and the Mercy Road community. Whether you’ve been a Christian for a long time or new to faith in Christ, ROOTED has the potential to have a bigger impact on your spiritual growth than anything else you do this year. Together, in groups of 10-15 you will:

1. Explore the Bible
2. Engage in prayer and serve experiences
3. Share stories and build community
4. Practice the rhythms essential to a healthy spiritual life

Groups meet in person on Wednesday nights at the church and will be led by a trained facilitator who will come alongside you throughout the 10 weeks.

Rooted can often be a catalyst for life-change. It is a place for questions and conversation and is one of the most unique and important experiences we have at Mercy Road Church. Rooted is designed to give you a glimpse of your story in God’s story.

FAQs

Is there a cost?
The cost is $40 per person. The fee helps offset the cost of the participant guide, printed materials for participants and facilitators, and large group experiences.

Where does Rooted meet?
Our Rooted groups meet at our church on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm – 8:00pm, if we have enough interest to start a Monday night group, that group will meet at the group leaders house from 6:30pm – 8:00pm.

Where do I get my materials?
After you sign up, you will receive all of your needed materials during Week 1 of Rooted.

What if I can’t make it to every week of Rooted?
We believe God uses the Rooted experience in powerful ways. That experience happens best when members of the group are present each week. Therefore, we ask that if you have to miss more than 2 sessions, please wait to sign up for the next session. We want you and your group to have the best experience possible.

How will my Rooted Group be chosen?
Our Rooted team will prayerfully place participants into groups of 10-12 people. We group by age, marital status, and life stage. These groups ultimately depend on the demographic of the participants registered. A substantial amount of prayer and thoughtfulness goes into creating groups which we think will provide the best experience for everyone. We will do our best to honor friend and leader requests when possible.

What happens after Rooted?
After Rooted, it is our hope that you will be able to identify your next step within our Engagement Pathway. Whether it’s serving for the first time, joining a Huddle or an Outpost. Every group will be invited to take a Next Steps Survey at the end of Rooted where you can indicate your interest and a staff member will connect with you directly. We believe Rooted is just the beginning of your discipleship journey.

Is there a scholarship available for Rooted?
We understand that the fee may be a burden for some, and we are happy to assist. To express interest in receiving a scholarship for Rooted please email info@mercyroad.cc

How often is Rooted offered?
Rooted is offered 3 times per year, traditionally there is:
– A Fall session that runs from September to November
– A Winter session that runs from January to March
– A Spring session that runs from April to June

What is the difference between a Rooted Group, an Outpost, or a Huddle?
Rooted is an on-ramp into a Huddle OR an Outpost. Many Rooted groups may decide to go through a Huddle together afterwards or join an Outpost.

Discipleship Huddles are groups of 4-7 people who meet intentionally each week over the course of about one year to learn how to hear God’s voice, live like Jesus, obey the Holy Spirit and to become disciple-makers. Learn More About Huddles

Outposts are what we consider missional communities, they are groups of people that meet together with common passions to make an impact beyond the four walls of the church. Learn More About Outposts
