WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

A Safe Place for Your Kids
Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Every team member undergoes a thorough vetting process, including background checks and safety training, to ensure your child’s well-being. Our secure check-in system provides peace of mind so you can focus on worship while your kids explore, grow, and make new friends in a secure environment.

Engaging, Jesus-Centered Content
From our littlest babies to our oldest elementary kids, every age group learns about God in ways that are creative, fun, and age-appropriate. We use Gospel-centered curriculum to help children explore the Bible in a meaningful way, with interactive lessons, small group discussions, and worship experiences designed to connect their hearts to Jesus.

Inclusive and Welcoming Spaces
We celebrate every child and are committed to meeting their unique needs. Whether it’s through our sensory-friendly environments or one-on-one support from a trained Mercy Buddy, we ensure all kids have the opportunity to experience the love of Jesus.

A Ministry That Grows With Your Family
Mercy Kids is designed to grow alongside your family, offering programs tailored for every stage, from birth to 5th grade. Whether it’s joyful play in our nursery, interactive Bible stories in preschool, or meaningful small group discussions in elementary school, your child will find a place to belong, believe, and become all that God created them to be.

Plan Your Visit

What to Expect
Visiting a new church can feel overwhelming, but at Mercy Kids, we’re here to make your experience simple, welcoming, and enjoyable. From the moment you step through our doors, we’re committed to ensuring that both you and your children feel at ease. Here’s everything you need to know for your first visit:

Where to Go
When you arrive, head to the Mercy Kids Check-In area located to the right of the main entrance. You’ll be greeted by our friendly team members, who are ready to help you navigate the process and answer any questions you have. If you’re not sure where to go, just look for a team member at the Connect Center—they’ll guide you every step of the way.

What Happens at Check-In
We’ll gather a few basic details to ensure your child has a safe and fun experience. Once your child is checked in, you’ll receive a security tag that matches theirs, ensuring a secure pick-up process after service. Our team will then guide you to your child’s age-appropriate room and give you a quick overview of what they’ll experience during their time with us.

What Your Kids Will Experience
From the nursery to 5th grade, each child will participate in a high-energy, age-appropriate program tailored to help them connect with Jesus in a way they can understand. Babies will receive loving care and will be prayed over, while toddlers through elementary kids will enjoy engaging Bible stories, worship, small group discussions, and hands-on activities designed to make learning fun.

Do Your Kids Need Any Specific Accommodations?
We’re committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming space for every child. If your child has a disability or requires additional support, our Mercy Buddies program offers personalized attention to ensure they have a meaningful and joyful experience. Just let us know at check-in, and we’ll take care of the rest.

We believe every family is unique, and we’re happy to tailor accommodations to meet your child’s needs. If there are specific concerns or additional steps we can take to make you feel more comfortable, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some common questions to help you navigate Mercy Kids, whether it’s your first visit or you’re already part of our church family:

What is my child learning at Mercy Kids?
Each week, kids engage with Jesus-centered, age-appropriate lessons that bring the Bible to life. Our curriculum walks through the Bible chronologically, helping kids connect every story to the big picture of God’s plan. We also provide tools and resources to help you continue the conversation at home.

How does Mercy Kids prioritize safety?
Safety is our highest priority. We know that kids cannot experience Jesus is they are not safe or do not feel safe. Every team member completes background checks, safety training, and onboarding before serving. Our check-in system ensures only authorized individuals can drop off and pick up children. Our environments are staffed with multiple volunteers, and all environments are monitored by security personnel.

What if my child has allergies?
At Mercy Kids, we are deeply committed to ensuring that every child has a safe, welcoming, and joyful experience. We understand how crucial it is to accommodate allergies and special needs, and we take proactive steps to create an environment where all children can thrive.

We take allergies very seriously and have clear procedures in place to safeguard your child:

Allergen-Free Environments: During most Sunday services, we do not use any food items containing major allergens. On occasions when a lesson includes an allergen, “allergy alert” signs are posted on the classroom door when applicable.

No Outside Food or Drinks: To maintain a controlled environment, food and drinks are not allowed in our classrooms, except for baby bottles in the nursery.

Special Circumstances: If a child requires a snack for regulation or medical needs, we provide parent-approved, allergy-friendly options in a controlled setting separate from the classroom.

How will I know if my child needs me during service?
If your child needs you, we’ll text the phone number you provided during check-in. Please keep your phone on vibrate and nearby during the service to ensure you’re reachable.

    What is the check-out process?
At pick-up, simply present the security tag you received during check-in. A team member will match the tag with your child’s ID for a secure handoff. If you lose your tag, we’ll verify your identity using a photo ID.

Do you have a nursing area for moms?
Yes! We offer a private and comfortable nursing area where moms can feed their babies while still viewing the service on a screen. Let a team member know, and they’ll direct you to the location.

Do you have programming for kids beyond 5th grade?
Kids in grades 6–12 are invited to join Mercy Students, where they can grow in their faith through small groups, events, and gatherings tailored just for them.

Can my child bring personal items to church?
For younger children, you’re welcome to bring comfort items like a blanket or pacifier (labeled with their name). For safety reasons, we ask that no outside toys, food, or drinks (except baby bottles) be brought into classrooms.

Do you offer a child dedication or baptism for kids?
Yes, we offer child dedications (you can sign up here). For older children ready to make a personal decision to follow Jesus, we provide resources and guidance to help them take the next step of baptism.

How can I lead my kids spiritually at home?
We believe parents are the primary spiritual leaders in their kids’ lives. Each week, we provide take-home resources designed to help you continue the faith conversation at home. From simple questions to Bible readings and family activities, we’re here to equip and empower you.

What should I do if I have additional questions or concerns?
If you have a question that isn’t listed here, don’t hesitate to ask. Feel free to reach out to our Mercy Kids staff or speak with a team member at check-in. You can also email us anytime at mercykids@mercyroad.cc. We’re honored to partner with you in helping your kids grow in faith and can’t wait to see them discover God’s love at Mercy Kids!
